MasterWeld 4047 Aluminium TIG Welding Rods has a higher silicone content than MasterWeld 4043. The benefits derived from this alloy are the following.

Benefits of 4047 Filler rod compared with 4043

Lower melting point, making it possible for aluminium brazing applications in addition to welding
Increased fluidity(wetting action) and reduced shrinkage.
Excellent for welding thinner materials that are required to have leak proof joints
Attractive bright weld appearance
Significantly reduce hot cracking
Slightly higher fillet weld shear strength
May be used in applications of sustained elevated temperatures, for example aluminium heat exchangers

Please note

Like 4043 filler rod, 4047 should not be used if you are considering the best colour match after post weld anodizing, as this filler alloy will typically turn dark grey in colour after the anodizing process because of the silicone content.
