Using the correct Aluminium filler rod for the base alloy I am welding

When welding aluminium the correct filler rod is essential especially in the development and qualification of welding procedures. Welding aluminium is in itself a considerable challenge from the start, and an aluminium filler rod that is typically more welder friendly is important, although other considerations might need to be the tensile strength and ductility of the weld, depending on what environment your product is going into, you may require resistance to corrosion, or sustained amounts of high temperature. Colour match is often important as well as post weld heat treatment.
